Health care rankings – Netherlands tops and UK in 14th place
A new report comparing European provision claims the NHS model is doomed and they are now tops and UK in 14th place only. UK is “still part of European waiting list territory”. According to all this, Netherlands is the best country in Europe to live for health care.
According to several factors, 2014 Euro Health Consumer Index (ECHI) ranked 37 countries. Considered factors are range of services offered; illness prevention and access to pharmaceuticals, patient rights and information disclosure; accessibility and waiting times for treatment; outcomes etc.
Total score was 1,000 points and Netherlands achieved 898. Switzerland came second, followed by Norway in third, Finland and Denmark. Ranking of UK, excluding Scotland, landed in 14th place (718 points). Spain is in 19th position and Italy 22nd. The Netherlands has been in the top three countries in each report published since 2005.
